Today in President Yar'Adua's own words 'We shall partner with AFRICOM to actualize its peace and security on the continent' President Bush also said he was impressed with Nigeria's efforts in the fighting corruption, promoting transparency and the rule of law; and promised to continue to 'help' Nigeria implement its economic reform policies.
This was Yar'Adua's first visit to the White House since he became President in May of 2007. His trip to the U.S also covered a round table discussion with the Whitaker Group, private meetings and a reception with U.S-based Nigerians.
